Thanks Gluck - appreciate what you do. Just finished putting mine together 2 days ago. I got the standalone twin stack. Thought I’d share my thoughts in case it helps anyone. Gluck is right: build quality is very high. Feel is as good as you will get. I particularly like the way the low row feels. Attachments are very good, although the pulldown bar is quite heavy. My wife could not change it by herself. Now for some real talk: this thing is a beast. It took me 3 hours just to move it all from the garage to the basement. Assembly took multiple days. This is not a small project. Yes, I was able to do it myself. No, it was probably not a good idea. That said, if I built another one with a partner, it go much faster. Packaging was great but tons of material to dispose of. I was able to pay the driver to help me unload the boxes off the pallet and take the pallet with him. I have very mixed feelings about the shrouds. If you get them, MOUNT THEM FROM THE INSIDE. instructions did not cover this, but if you try to mount them from the outside they will get scratched. You can take them off if you don’t like them but there is a small bracket on the bottom crossbeam that will stick out. Still not sure if I like the look. Unfortunately, because of the mounting bracket, if you don’t order them up front I think it would hard to add them later. I do not like the trolleys. They are not just 2 hands. You need to stand square, use 2 hands and 3 fingers on each hand. They are VERY heavy. Yes, very smooth. But heavy and cumbersome to the point where my wife probably cannot change them. I seriously doubt she can lift them overhead. There’s overkill, there’s Rogue and there’s these trolleys. I do wish the starting weight was even lighter for shoulder cuff movements, particularly rehab type movements. The starting weight (20, feels like 10) does move smoothly and is very useable. Practically, a lighter starting weight would probably be too light to work correctly, so there’s a trade off. I wish the shrouds had built in storage for handles and attachments. There isn’t an obvious, clean way to integrate storage, which I think is a miss from Rouge. Overall, a very good piece of equipment for serious training. If you are on the fence on the shrouds, skip them. Some beginners, lighter weight class, older and female lifters might prefer a true functional trainer for lighter weights and ease of changing pulley height. Hardcores will not be disappointed. Hope this helps someone.
Thanks for this. I was going to buy this FM-6 Twin until this review caused Rogue to raise their price well above the Ares 2.0 so I ordered the Ares 2.0. I’ve been a little bummed out about not getting what I’d really wanted but I will be working out with my wife and tore my shoulder last year so I appreciate the easy of moving the trolley and lighter strarting weight for rehab movements or some super deep drop sets. Thanks for this feedback!
@@path4061 The 90 inch I assume was based on sweet spot of most basements from older houses. Same for me, i have 93 inches w/o mats and finished celling
@@brandonv8721same. I have 95” between floor and crossbeams in my unfinished basement. After 1” double OSB board platform and 3/4” stall mats, I have 93” to play with. That means the 93” REP, which is 93.9” with the Ares 2.0 is just ever so slightly too tall. I actually considered carving back small passes in the cross beams for the cables to pass through. But for not too much more, I can just buy a Rogue which will fit. The biggest issue and only reason I’m still debating is the footprint of the Rep is smaller because they have a 16” width between the back two posts and middle posts, whereas Rogue requires a 24”.

Just assembled my FM Twin this weekend. I already knew it was a great purchase but this solidified that decision even more! Thank you for the quality content
You forgot to mention the surprise rogue gives you, you showed it but didnt mention it! The 3x3 Strips that were used for packaging! I already had one for my echo GHD, but 2 more to put up behind the rack makes for excellent storage! $130 worth of 3x3 strips and they dont even tell you its included! I love it! Thanks for the review! You've helped me decide what to buy many times!
Wait what I missed this. That’s so awesome! Can these be wall mounted? Can you elaborate on what kind of hardware is included with these extra 3x3 (wall mount, rack mount?)
@zdoubleyou2073 They dont included any lag bolts for this, but you can get them at lowes or home depot. They were specifically built to be wall mounted. Look up the rogue 3x3 strip. There's a few things you can do with them!
@@Robs3deez that’s awesome! Thank you! I wish they advertised this. I bought two mantles to put behind the rack with stray dog strength hooks for attachments. Should work well since the lat tower piece is thin and you need about 10 inches from the wall to clear plates on the back post.
I emailed Rogue regarding the option to remove the 8 x storage pins, since i don't need them. They say they could remove it from the order but not lower the price. There is about 300-400 $ worth of storage pin on there. Price could be lower without the pins.
I ordered the Ares 2.0. 1. Rep was able to apply a lot of feedback to the design. Rogue does not have that benefit. 2. Rogue Monster safety straps do not come off the upright, so they would be a pain with the front pulleys. 3. The Rep rack is 8” shorter in length (24” vs 16” rear), which is important in a small gym. 4. With the shrouds, there is no way to increase weights on rogue with smaller increases than 5 pounds front and 10 pounds rear. Rep has 5 pound adder weights built-in to accomplish this. 5. Rep has the labels for the effective weight while Rogue uses the actual weight. I prefer less math at 4:00 a.m. 6. The lat pulldown pulley is higher up on the Rep rack than Rogues due to 93” vs 90” crossmembers. 7. I had a discount making Ares 2.0 much less expensive. 8. Rep ships the rack ASAP and Ares in October vs Rogue ships their version as one unit meaning no power rack for 6-8 weeks.
Forgot to mention a few things like easier 1 handed trolley movement, better cable starting points on the top and bottom - smaller pulleys, and uni-lateral movement as an option. Just more function in the footprint.
#2- I replaced the bolts in my safety straps with hitch pins (Basement Brandon has a video on this) and they are now quick and easy to remove. I know this doesn't help you, but it might help someone else.
I ordered the Ares 2.0 too. But then I watched this video and decided to cancel it and order the Rogue. I have a Rogue Rhino and I’m confident the quality will be superior to Ares 2.0.
I am REP Ares 1.0 owner and absolutely love it. However, if I was still in the market for a rack and functional training, I would absolutely look at this one. It looks fantastic. I love the beefy trollies and long cable travel. Also, I am with Winnie….. the GREEN looks amazing!!!! Thanks so much for the great review.
Whinnie is 100% on point. The slimmer green is absolute 🔥🔥🔥. Also great review. That is an awesome eco system. It is great to see REP and Rogue go head to head in an equipment arms race! Keep killing the videos!
Thank you 😊 I would quite love to see more direct thoughts between the twin and the single, but I think the footprint of the twin is going to be a major selling point for a lot of people.
Thanks for the honest review, I haven't owned anything rogue before but I am building out a 1 car garage & the twin stack rack will be perfect in there & give me tons of options. If I could only own one the rest of my life I want it to last, pully system looks great.
Dude, you are the 🐐. I intend to put this in the gym at my work but I was a little nervous about how it would hold up. After watching your (as always) awesome and thorough review, I think it will hold up no problem and will be a great replacement for a functional trainer, lat pulldown, and low row. Thanks for all that you do! 🫡
I have the twin…it’s unpacked and scattered all over my gym floor. This is great information, and I’m sure I will love mine, once I get around to installing it. The only bad part is that I have to move my lever arms to the inside. Hopefully they work well together.
Spent the last three days building out the FM-6 twin. Absolutely love it! I should be good to go for the next 100 years on the frame, although I may need a new pulley or two as well as some replacement cables before i reach the ripe age of 150. Get a second person for the build if you can. I got help at some key points in the build, and did all else solo. I only had one near death experience with the wife and a falling Rogue nameplate. Other than that, smooth sailing yet now we have a story to tell.
Appreciate all that you do and it has been cool to see your channel grow over the years. I just ordered a Manta Ray through your affiliate link so hopefully you get some kickback! (Plus I appreciate your content a lot more than Coop's channel - you actually lift and tell it like it is) 😊
Yesterday (12/21/24), I received a shipment for free from Rogue which had WEIGHT STACK PIN HOLDERS for each stack AND replacement stickers for the weight stacks, complete with sticker labels to differentiate the weights when doing lat pulldown/low row versus the individual handles ("Actual: Weight when using Lat/Row" and "Effective: Weight when split between two handles"). I'm assuming everyone who purchased the FM Twin will get these at some point and new purchases will just have included.
I have to say this is the most impressive and well thought out rack I've seen! I can't think of anything I don't like about it! Thanks Gluck for the review!
We got our FM-6 Twin Stack (100” height, 43” in Burnt Orange to match our KTM bikes that are lined up in front of it) at the beginning of September. Put it together slowly because it was still triple digit heat here and we don’t have a mini split in our garage yet. Been loving it except for the safety straps being such a pain and not allowing the trollies to go all the way down. But I’m going to get some of those pins you recommended and my love affair with my Rogue will be back in full force! Great review - keep them coming!
Awesome review. I’ve been saving for the REP Aries 2.0 but I think I’ll go with rogue instead. I’m big on American made products. I’ll make sure to use your affiliate links when purchasing 😉
Minor comment. I switched the safety strap bolts for hitch pins, but rarely use them. My rack is an RM-3, meaning I can reach for the metal piece on each side of the straps and raise or lower them both at the same time. I bought the pins before the rack even arrived (back in 2021) and now I don't really take the pins out. It's still nice to have.
Good luck, or Gluck as some say, on waiting for the Aries 2.0 for comparison. I pre-ordered maybe 2 weeks after announcement, using your affiliate link of course, and I've now been given a mid November ship date. Rep has given me 2 x $100 gift cards for the delays and their deepest apologies
Would like to see how Rogue incorporates an updated version of the Rhino. It's a big deciding factor if I should invest in the plate loaded or twin stack. I really love the convivence of the weight stack, but I do love the Rogue Rhino equally as much lol.
I'm also interested to see how well the new Rhino incorporates into the Plate Loaded Single. Shouldn't be hard (they intentionally designed it to) but there's def a few things they need to get right.
Great review on both single and twin stack, I’ve watched both. I just have a question, did you bolt your systems to the ground? Wondering if I can get away without bolting them myself.
Hahaha I might already be a pro. It's why we don't comment on build time and difficulty as much anymore. After you've done it way too many times it becomes robotic and our experience isn't realistic to others.
If one were to buy the half rack version, would the cables get in the way of the bar/plates since you'd be benching off the same posts as the trolleys?
Great review and info, thank you! New subscriber here. Would you consider reviewing the single vs double stack FM trainers? Also would love to see a review of the "Functional Rhino" attachment. Spendy, but it appears to be what I'm after. Thanks!
Since there was no video today, I managed to watch this one start to finish. Really well done. Although I think your low row positioning with the bench might get you "me too'd" in most local gyms.
Great review, the cable travel and footprint info was extremely useful and having the back of the rack open due to the stacks being on the sides is the deciding factor for me.
I cannot decide between this or the Ares 2.0. I’ve been decided on one or the other like 10 times. I like on the Rep that the back posts are only a 16” width, so it has a smaller footprint.
Our Ares 2.0 came in so we're working on that review and it sounds like people want a side by side comparison vid as well. It will take some time but maybe those will help you decide.
Something to aspire to! I’m on a Rogue squat rack and was thinking of saving up for a separate functional trainer but these integrated systems are just too good and this one seems like the best based on your review. I would love to see a comparison between REP’s and Rogue’s dual stack integrated racks though. Great job as usual!🎉
Gluck out here doing god's work! Thank you for this review!! Also, I appreciate the mag pin safety strap suggestion. I had thought of this and was going to buy the Straydog Strength safety strap (which can be attached/detached like a jcup) but the mag pin solution is much cheaper!
Gluck -- random question. I think I see you using the ghost roller jcup. If so, was that a recent order? Recent orders (post rogue acquisition) are commenting that the quality is suspect; specifically it doesn't lay flush against the rack. Any insight there?
Those are Ghost rollers and a few years old but were bought post Rogue acquisition. We have a roller J-Cup breakdown vid that has them in it. See if that helps ruclips.net/video/Cd2WIALMv3k/видео.html
Sorry if this is a repeat question, does Winny (ie? Sorry if i misspell) have trouble moving the trolly system because of its bulk? I didnt think it would be an issue but I saw on reddit a few people had that problem.
Expect a full day! I could not get it done in a day. A helper will make a big difference - I did it alone. If you have the shrouds, install them from the inside. If you try to install them from the outside, they will get scratched. Ask me how I know. . . Do not tighten everything right away. You’ll need a bit of play to get everything to fit, then you can tighten.
It often sounds much like a recitation of company promo material for those that don't like to read lol, but both Rogue and REP have good products that often overfill the needs of the average user on a budget.
Looks awesome. I have the Rep Ares 1.0 and it works just great. If I was buying all over right now it would be an option, but to sell and upgrade isn’t worth the hassle (time and money) to upgrade and get some added quality and minimal benefits. ares 1.0 works just fine for what I need. But this one does look good.
@glucks gym this video has Rep spooked. They created a video and everything lol. Rep if you want to compete then I suggest you lower your prices. Most Americans are going with American made when the price point is comparable. Rep you know you can lower the price by hundreds just look at your Aries 1.0 sell price. Just my 2 cents. Great review as always!
With all these multi-use racks coming out it would be great if you reviewed the Force USA C10! It truly seems like a real do-it-all rack. Love your reviews man
Looks awesome, wonder if there will be leg attachments at some point. Would love to see a hack squat, leg press option like the force USA c10 has if you add their sliding bench.
We are looking to build a home gym for our family. We do like the Prime HLP and the Rouge FM and are struggling to decide between. Any recommendations will be appreciated. Thank you in advance for your currency this regard. Rafael, Melissa & Emma
these are the two I'm looking at - different things to consider on the half rack like modifying with Irwin A arms for pull up bar, or if there's enough room behind the post for attachments requiring a pin with the shroud, and footprint, etc.
Can you comment on how far you can angle an incline bench press on the Rogue? Seems like there were some limitations on Ares 2.0, wondering if the Rogue is better since the stacks are on the sides vs. directly behind
Would love to see this especially with the ares 2.0 low row plate having cut outs for the bench where Rogue's seemingly does not. Wonder how easy it makes using the low row for hamstring curls too on both machines
This is nice. I'd love to pick it up with a manta ray but can't justify the cost when I already have power rack etc. Would be interesting to know if the FM component would fit on a BOS Hydra or Manticore rack. I know BOS are coming out with their own take on it, but from what I see the cable on theirs goes right down the middle of the uprights which is not ideal.
New to the home gym scene and love all your videos. Thank you! No equipment yet, but planning something for Black Friday. Maybe I’m an oddball but the video I’d like to see someone make is comparing Rep wall-mount Athena with Ares 2.0 (and/or Rogue FM Twin). I know they’re very different. But if one uses a Gympin with the Athena wall-mount to add weight for lat-pull down and low row (with dual-knee roller / footplate attachments), can it effectively enable all exercises that the Ares 2.0 can for less cost and space, with simpler assembly/maintenance? Perhaps the Gympin or Bare Steel weight-stack extension pins aren’t really effective (I never used them) or the hassle setting them up isn’t worth it? You’d lose rack storage and ability to add certain attachments (e.g. multi-grip pull-up) with Athena wall mount, but seems like can achieve practically all the same exercises as half-rack versions of Ares 2.0 and FW Twin. (Adding the front stabilizer feet to the Ares 2.0 or Rogue FM Twin extends the rack too much into my small room). Am I nuts? Don’t want to make a newbie mistake, would love to hear comments..
What a great review! I’d be interested in your providing a recommended build. You pointed out in your review some interesting substitutions. It would be great if you formalized a configuration with Rogue and 3rd party bits and pieces that you think provides an ideal solution. You have experience with Rogue and other third-party equipment that is mere mortals can only dream of.

Finally! Been waiting for this review for weeks. I'm sold now. Order going in ASAP. Thanks for the great reviews as always!!!!
Now we need that Ares 2.0 vs Rogue FM Twin, so that I can either be smug in my choice or channel my deep regrets to improve my pump
This is where I am at. I am holding off making a decision until I see the rhino version.
Plate loaded on everything would be really annoying. Worth getting a stand alone if you have the room.
I'm also interested to see how well the new Rhino incorporates into the Plate Loaded Single. Shouldn't be hard (they intentionally designed it to) but there's def a few things they need to get right.
Hanging off for the rhino add on as well.
The only issue is that shipping to anywhere outside USA is, a major PITA to say the least
Great review on both single and twin stack, I’ve watched both. I just have a question, did you bolt your systems to the ground? Wondering if I can get away without bolting them myself.
I'd be suprised if need to bolt if on 6 post rack
I’ve been waiting on this review for a while now. Thank You so much for making this video.
Youre going to be a pro at assembling power racks with all this practice. Thanks for the review! Let us know how it compares to the Ares 2.0.
Hahaha I might already be a pro. It's why we don't comment on build time and difficulty as much anymore. After you've done it way too many times it becomes robotic and our experience isn't realistic to others.
I wasn’t waiting on this review at all
can you do an assembly accelerated video, and assembly score, total time, etc, etc. Thanks for the great content - super helpful!
This video convinced me to cancel my REP ARES 2.0 and order FM6 Twin. Thanks and I ordered from your link! 🎊 🎉
Now comes the 8-12 week wait 😅
Just got mine in and installed! Awesome so far. What a tank (just like my Rhino)
o man that is nice, and thank for the tip about the pins removal. You guys rock!!
Glad I’m 3 weeks ahead of a larger order queue this video is going to create. Thanks for the review.
Thanks!
Would love to see a comparison video, if anyone ever gets their Ares!! Also, for me, the lower height offering from REP is what did it for me.
Our Ares 2.0 just go dropped off 👀
@@GlucksGym good luck! no going back for me, so hopefully you like the Ares 2.0!!
My Mann 🏆. I'm still mad at you for what you did to Nuobells. But you making up for it with these quick Rogue trainer reviews
All I did was tell the truth 😁
Since there was no video today, I managed to watch this one start to finish. Really well done. Although I think your low row positioning with the bench might get you "me too'd" in most local gyms.
Definitely a great review. Will be saving up to get mine! Thanks
You still need the spacers without the shrouds. There's a very small overlap between the horns and the weight stacks. I tested it.
Definitely need the comparison to Ares 2.0...
Great review! I got the half rack twin stack and have really enjoyed it so far.
Great review, the cable travel and footprint info was extremely useful and having the back of the rack open due to the stacks being on the sides is the deciding factor for me.
Definitely in for the signle vs double stack and the Rep vs Rogue comparisons
Algorithm. This is kind of a rehashed video but none the less, I appreciate your humor and detail.
This is a vid I was waiting for. Of course we want a big, direct comparison video!
@@GlucksGym Thanks. Very helpful reviews! Look forward to the Ares one! Good luck setting it up, lol
Something to aspire to! I’m on a Rogue squat rack and was thinking of saving up for a separate functional trainer but these integrated systems are just too good and this one seems like the best based on your review. I would love to see a comparison between REP’s and Rogue’s dual stack integrated racks though. Great job as usual!🎉
great reviews as always
Thanks!
Thank you so much for the review! How smooth was the cable pull compared to the single stack plate loaded? Was there any noticeable difference?
Just tuning in to watch Gluck curl.
😂😂😂
I love the Chip green rack! Looking forward to all of the comparison videos even though I bought the twin on day one 😂
I really like this. But, they should have made pegboard shrouds.
I do like that green color scheme.
Sorry if this is a repeat question, does Winny (ie? Sorry if i misspell) have trouble moving the trolly system because of its bulk? I didnt think it would be an issue but I saw on reddit a few people had that problem.
Mine just came in today. Installing tomorrow! You have me pumped!!!!
Was yours the add on? Also I went with out the shrouds since my kids are older (and to save some money). Thanks for the advice
I got the add on and it took about 10 hours to install solo. Could be done faster if you stay organized and have help.
@@ronaldpena6760 sounds like I have a long day ahead of me…. Should be fun though
Check out the MAXUM Sx2. It has the smith plus these cool articulating arms. I’m trying to decide between this Rogue, the Ares 2.0 and the Maxum.
Love your reviews man
I love this channel
@@AM-my3jk thank you!
Darn I was so sure my rack upgrade was going to be the Ares 2.0 but now I’m back to square one 😅 Thanks Gluck 😅
Were gonna need that in-depth deep dive!
How bout the fm-hr and ares 2.0 4 post battle? It more fits a home gym space
these are the two I'm looking at - different things to consider on the half rack like modifying with Irwin A arms for pull up bar, or if there's enough room behind the post for attachments requiring a pin with the shroud, and footprint, etc.
Love your videos! Keep it up!
Thank you!
Do the side by side compare between rep ares and rogue fm please
@glucksgym what’s the distance from your wall to the front of the rack?
Can it get low enough for cable kickbacks? Compared to Ares 2.0? Also would the Irwin arms work on the half stack to add a pull up bar?
Thanks for the new video, I've been waiting on this before pressing submit.
and using the link, right? 😉
Of course, you were the first to drop the review so you get the credit ;)
Awesome video as always. Still wonder if you can pull out a long pulll pin were shrouds are at at back of middle post?
Green looks nice 👍
I'd rather have an all in one with a smith machine for the same price. Like to see a review on the Maxim one. Good review as always .
Convinced. I'm buying one
Are you going to do a vs. against Rep? Would like to know which you would recommend all things considered
Seems like that's what people want to see so we'll definitely work towards doing a head to head comparison.
